July 10th USAC Indiana Sprint Week Results...

From MudclodBob/Dick Jordan: Dave Darland's night ended right where he had hoped it would Friday night at Lawrenceburg Speedway............in victory lane after capturing the “Robbie Stanley Classic” to start the 22nd “Indiana Sprint Week”. Hot on Darland's heels was Bryan Clauson, Chad Boat, Levi Jones and Jon Stanbrough.

Severe thunder storms in the area didn't have a chance Friday afternoon as 47 USAC spint cars entered the pits and were poised to blow everything away.

Qualifications got underway with Nic Faas setting quick time as Anthony Peterman and Kurt Gross took hard tumbles in turns one and two and Ryan Pace rolled over in turn one.

Tim Spindler won the qualifying race as Darren Hagen, Kevin Thomas Jr., Shane Cottle and Brady Short all took heat race victories.

Just as the B main was pushed off, light rain began to fall but as the green flag flew the cars seened to blow it away. Chad Boat won the 12 lap event.

Jon Stanbrough and Darland made up the front row of the 30 lap feature. Darland took the lead at the green and led the distance but it proved to be an exciting battle throughout.

Just as the 2nd lap was complete Jerry Coons Jr flipped in turn three. He was ok. On the restart, Damion Gardner was right on Darlands bumper with Chad Boat, Bryan Clauson, Stanbrough , Levi Jones and Nic Faas all in tow.

At the halfway point Clauson moved into 2nd and began to put pressure on Darland as they approached lapped traffic. With 20 in things got really interesting as the lead duo were making moves in and out of traffic. The racing was intense for several laps until a yellow came out for Gardner going to the pits.

With three laps remaining, the green came out and Dave Darland proved to be the cagey veteran and drove off with the victory over Clauson, Chad Boat, Levi Jones , Jon Stanbrough and 23rd starting Henry Clarke in 6th

Harvey goes 3-3 at The Burg!

Don Harvey has been to Lawrenceburg on 2

different occasions going into Saturdays

night’s race.   When Harvey’s night ended, he

tasted victory yet again.  Harvey started on

the pole and lead all 20 laps in the AMSA

mini-sprint feature.   25 AMSA mini sprints

began the evening with hopes of standing in

victory lane themselves, but no one could out

run the #44 driven by the NY native, Don

Harvey.  Harvey has shown pure dominance in

his 3 starts at Lawrenceburg while no one

has been able to keep up.  Following Harvey

across the line were Rod Henning, Doug

Jones, Nick Roberts, and Merrill Calvert.  Heat

race winners on the night were Beau Stewart

, Rod Sanders, and Drew Pollock.  Seth

Wilkerson won the B main.  The AMSA mini-

sprints return to the track on July 25.

Wieck BACK in victory lane!

It has been quite some time since Brad Wieck

has been in Victory Lane at The burg.  In fact,

Wieck hasn’t won at the Burg since it has

been reconfigured.  37 Budweiser UMP

modifieds were attempting to make the 20 car

20 lap feature.  Wieck started on the pole of

the 20 lap feature alongside Joey Kramer, who

is always strong at Lawrenceburg.  When the

green flag dropped Wieck was able to secure

the lead but Kramer was right there ready to

pounce.  Kramer tried lap after lap trying to

pull alongside of Wieck but Wieck was always

able to shut the door out of the turns.  Kramer

would mount another charge near the end of

the race, but Wieck was able to hold him off

and win the race.  Kramer finished second

followed by Bill Wagner, Rick Hensley, and JD

Largent.  Heat race winners were Brad Wieck,

Joey Kramer, Daryl Herbert, and JD Francis.

Adam Jordan and Jeff Harris won the 2 B

mains.  The Budweiser UMP modifieds return

to the Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday

July 18.
