City of Lawrenceburg Fall Nationals Night 1 October 2nd
Marty O’Neal wins second feature at Lawrenceburg.
Friday night saw Marty O’Neal dominate the modified feature as he led the final 19 laps on his way to his second feature win this year. 24 Budweiser UMP Modifieds were at the track competing for the feature win. As the season winds down, several newcomers were attempting to get their car setup for the upcoming Dirt Track World Championship in a couple weeks. Drivers such as Zach Fair, Matt Bex, Clint DeMoss, David McWilliams, and others made their first trip to the track in 2009. When the green flag waved for the 20 lap feature, Zach Fair jumped to the lead. However, his lead would be short lived, as Marty O’neal quickly put the move around him to take the race lead. Once O’Neal, got around Fair, he would have no trouble leading the final 19 laps. Matt Bex mounted the best challenge of the night on O’Neal in the feature, but Bex could only manage to finish second. Rounding out the top five was Zach Fair, Clint DeMoss, and David McWilliams. Heat race winners on the night were Fair, O’Neal and Bex.
