Stockon wins in Leary’s Car!
The #30 defending Track Champion sprint car has now won 3 in a row at Lawrenceburg. CJ Leary, the defending track champion won the last 2 features and this past Saturday Chase Stockon, subbing for CJ Leary had no trouble leading from the drop of the green flag and leading all 25 green flag laps. The race went green to checkers and although the battle for the lead didn’t amount to much, the race for second, third and fourth was intense. Robert Ballou secured second until he almost crashed in turn 3. He fell back to 4th and battled both Joss Moffatt and Daron Clayton for the runner up spot. Much of the race the leaders dealt with lapped traffic, but it was a clean 25 laps without a single caution lap. Moffatt finished second followed by Clayton, Ballou and Landon Simon. Heat race winners were Clayton, Stockon, Scotty Weir, and Max McGhee. Aaron Farney won the B main. The chase for the Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Point Standings is now tied after point leader Shawn Westerfeld struggled to finish 10th and that combined with Joss Moffatt’s runner up finish tied up the point standings.
Kramer back in Victory Lane!
Joey Kramer won for the third time in 2014 dominating in typical Kramer fashion. He started on the outside of row 3 and powered his way to the front taking over the lead on lap 2 and never looking back. A few on track incidents slowed the field and allowed second place running Kyle Herbert to try a couple slide jobs on the restarts under Kramer but Herbert was not able to make the pass work. After a few laps Kramer was able to build up his lead, and was not threatened after that. Herbert ran a strong second, followed by Kyle Schornick, Weasel Rhoades and David Spille. Heat race winners were Herbert, Kincaid, and Kramer. Scotty Kincaid continues to lead the points by 255 points over Jim Fliehman.
Hensley picks up second win in 2014!
The top two drivers in the points championship standings for The Impact Sports Purestocks were at the center of the story this past Saturday night at Lawrenceburg. Scott Beeler jumped out to the lead and was trailing only Scott Hensley in the standings by just 10 points. Beeler led for the first several laps as Hensley reeled him in. The two raced very close for several laps without touching. On lap 10, Hensley slid on some oil and slid up into Beeler. Beeler and Hensley both almost spun out, and Hensley backed up the gas and allowed Beeler to regain control of his car and resume the lead. The problem for Beeler occurred on the next lap in turns 1 and 2. Beeler got sideways and spun out, which gave Hensley the lead. Beeler was upset and thought Hensley had spun him out but no contact occurred when Beeler actually spun. Beeler would come back to finish 8th. Hensley led the remaining 6 laps and won for the second time in 2014. The rest of the top 5 was Jeff Litchfield, Don Grace, Houston Roark and Banny Blackwell. Heat race winners were Hensley and Beeler. Scott Hensley now leads Scott Beeler by 65 points.
Dalton Roark wins feature #5!
Dalton Roark needed only 1 lap to pass Mark Allen for the lead and never looked back. As we have seen so many times this year, Dalton Roark dominated the field and looks primed for his first track championship, after winning for the 5th time this year. Good racing for the rest of top 5 went on for the entire race. The rest of the top 5 was Allen, John Grace, Cody Perry, and Andrew Roark. Heat race winners were Roark and Allen. Roark leads the Bessler’s U Pull N Save Hornets by 375 points with just a few races remaining.
