August 1st: Family Night @ The Races/Jason Soudrette Memorial
Westerfeld Wins Soudrette Memorial!
The defending Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Car Champion Shawn Westefeld came into the BOSS race as their point leader and left the point leader for the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series! Westerfeld drew the outside front row starting position but quickly made the move for the lead around Joss Moffatt who led the first 2 laps. A few late race cautions gave Westerfeld a slight challenge from CJ Leary but nothing he couldn’t hold off. The 25 lap feature ended up being a crash filled event with luckily no drivers hurt. CJ Leary ran second followed by Thomas Meseraull the current track point leader who started 15th, followed by Dickie Gaines driving the Jason Soudrette Racing #44, and Joss Moffatt rounding out the top 5. The Race appropriately named for former track champion, Jason Soudrette who passed away almost 2 years ago. Heat race winners were Westerfeld, Leary, Brandon Spithaler, and Mike Miller. Garrett Abrams won the B main. The Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint return to the track on August 15th for the Dick Gaines Memorial.

With just a few laps remaining, Schornick had to pull off under caution turning the lead over to Matt Hamilton who went on to win over David Spille, Scotty Kincaid, Mikah Reams and Pete Holt. Heat race winners were Schornick, and Hamilton. Matt Hamilton continues to lead the Budweiser UMP Modified point standings by 50 points over David Spille.

This season, The Impact Sports Purestocks has been a battle between Scott Hensley and Will McRoberts. 2 champions going at it week in and week out. McRoberts tried to get a couple good runs on Hensley but Hensley had him covered. Houston Roark finished 3rd, followed by Corebin McRoberts, and Eric House. Although a very exciting race there were 2 cars up front that were the class of the field on this night. The 13 of Blake Gibson and the 20 of Jacob Owens. Those 2 cars would battle it out the entire feature swapping the lead until the checkered flag with Gibson beating Owens back to finish line. Tim Baird ran a strong third followed by Chris Friedhoff, and Jerry Gibson III. Heat race winners were Gibson III, Blake Gibson, Owens, and Billy Gibson. Katie Smith and Kevin Penick won the B Mains.
