The win came at Mudlick Valley Raceway and marked his 13th overall on the season.

“We had a perfect night at Mudlick Valley Raceway on Sunday, where the car was great and everything fell into place and we won the dash and the feature. The MB Customs Racecar and LaSalle Racing Engine was on point,” Troutman said. “The rest of the weekend didn’t go as well as we would’ve liked with various challenges, but we still had fun and learned some valuable things.”

Drake Troutman lifted the lid on his Independence Day weekend on Friday afternoon with a visit to Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) for the Milt Miller Tribute. With 22 Super Late Models entered, Troutman secured his spot into the $4,900-to-win A-Main with a second-place finish in his heat race.

Starting in third, Drake pulled off on the seventh circuit while running in the top three due to an overheating engine. The team later discovered a hole in his radiator as the culprit.

On Saturday, Drake traveled to Lawrenceburg Speedway (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) to compete in the Modified ranks for the 11th annual Merrill Downey Memorial. After placing ninth in his heat, Troutman logged a 10th-place finish in his B-Main as his night came to an early end.

Returning to the driver’s seat of his Super Late Model on Sunday evening at Mudlick Valley Raceway (Wallingford, Ky.), Troutman followed up a dash win with a flag-to-flag victory in the feature. He collected $5,000 for his 13th triumph of the season.

On Monday afternoon at Beckley Motor Speedway (Beckley, W.Va.) for the XR Southern All Star Series-sanctioned USA 100, Drake took part in his heat race but due to mechanical issues was a scratch for the remainder of the evening.
