Recap from May 11th

Hamilton Dominates Modified Feature!

Defending track champion, Matt Hamilton, took the green flag in the 4th position and after 1 lap found himself leading the race. Another top competitor, Trent Green started 16th but was ripping the cushion on his way to the front. Green made his way to second when a mechanical failure ended his chances at a win, forcing him to retire from the race. Nick Snell who started from the pole fell back at the start but recovered to finish second followed by Daniel Sanchez, Ricky Bolton and Aidan Hinds. Heat race winners were Sanchez and Snell. The Kolossal Fireworks Insanity Modifieds return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday May 18th alongside the Northern Allstars Late Model Series.

Moore Does What Moore Does in Hornet Feature!

Cordell Moore grabbed the lead from outside polesitter Joe Pflum on lap 2 and led the remaining 11 laps on his way to winning his second feature of 2024 at Lawrenceburg. Moore was kept honest in the race by Joe Pflum and Preston Evans who were both close enough to push Moore to be at his best during the 12-lap race. Moore held on for the win beating Pflum, Evans, Brian Mullins, and Landon Ramirez. Heat race winners were Moore and Brody Hembree. The Lawrence Motorsports Trailer Sales Hornets return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday May 18th alongside the Northern Allstars Late Model Series.

Andrews Cannot be Denied!

Joel Andrews, a 3-time Lawrenceburg Track Champion, and arguably one of the greatest Pure Stock drivers at Lawrenceburg, simply can’t be stopped. He has won 4 of the first 5 features of the year so far, and finished second in the one he didn’t win, and that was after starting from dead last. Andrews started from the pole and surprisingly didn’t lead lap 1 or lap 2 or 3. Dalton Roark led the first lap with John Heaston leading the next 2 as Andrews, Heaston, and Roark battled for the top spot. Andrews grabbed the lead on lap 4 and never looked back. He led the remaining 11 laps on his way to another impressive feature win. Danny Eichler came up to finish second followed by John Heaston, Dylan Chase and Eli McRoberts. Heat race winners were Andrews and Roark. The Impact Sports Pure Stocks return to Lawrenceburg on Friday May 31st.
